Former CM Biplab Kumar Deb begins Journey in Rajya Sabha
Former Chief Minister and incumbent Rajya Sabha MP Biplab Kumar Deb on the opening day of the winter session of the parliament has demanded for opening a Circle Office of Archeological Survey of India (ASI) in the state.
Deb in his first speech in the upper house of Parliament expressed his courtesy to the chairman and all members of the House and then followed in favor of his demand describing Tripura as a state with unbound wonders and marvelous natural beauties . The state carries numerous incredible and majestic structures with glorious history dating back to ancient times such as –Tripura Sundari Temple, Unakoti, Pilak, Boxonagar etc. The state has enormous tourism potential that can be capitalized by ensuring protection to the heritage structures, said Deb.
A Circle Office of ASI will cater to the need of promoting tourism and accelerate the speed of development in the state, said Deb and also expressed his gratitude to the Prime Minister for providing momentum to the process of development in the Northeast. Consideration of this demand would go a long way in establishing the Northeast of the country as Ashtalakshmi, said Deb.
